Where standard regulators fail due to media cooling or solidification, our design ensures a constant thermal environment. By integrating a high-performance GO Regulator® or Swagelok® core into a proprietary, high-grade stainless steel steam jacket, we provide a system that eliminates condensation, crystallization, and product fouling.

Technical Features & Inacom Engineering

Unlike standard off-the-shelf components, the Inacom Steam Jacketed Regulator is an in-house engineered assembly designed for long-term reliability in EPC and OEM projects worldwide.

  • Proprietary Steam Jacket Design: A fully encapsulated housing (Ø 10.5 cm) providing uniform heat distribution across the entire regulator body.

  • Precision TIG-Welded Construction: Every jacket is assembled using Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding. This electric arc process ensures a high-strength, lifetime bond between the steam jacket and the regulator body, capable of withstanding rigorous industrial cycles.

  • Extended Port Architecture: To ensure ease of installation, the internal 1/4” NPT ports (Inlet, Outlet, and Gauge) are extended via stainless steel pipe sections. This aligns all process and steam connections on a single plane outside the jacket wall.

  • High-Viscosity Optimization: Specifically ported to handle non-Newtonian fluids, high-solid content, and media that must remain at a stable temperature without the use of electrical heating.

  • Universal Compatibility: Seamless integration with industry-standard backpressure technology.

 

How it Works: Superior Thermal Uniformity

The Inacom Steam Jacketed Regulator is engineered for maximum heat transfer efficiency. Unlike traditional heat-tracing or external blankets that often leave “cold spots,” our system utilizes a fully integrated Stainless Steel heating jacket.

The Thermal Block Principle: Saturated steam is introduced through a dedicated 1/4” NPT inlet and circulates throughout the jacket. This transforms the regulator into a single, uniform thermal block. By maintaining the process media at a consistent temperature from inlet to outlet, the risk of product solidification on the valve seat is eliminated.

The Inacom Steam Jacketed Regulator was born from necessity. In the early 1980s, Inacom Instruments developed the first $500$ psi stainless steel heated backpressure regulator to solve critical cooling issues in ethylene analyzers.

Decades of refinement have turned this into a “popular-demand” solution for any application where gas or liquid must be held at a precise temperature to prevent phase changes or polymerization.
